Where the lotus grow: A Return Home

Brihatta Art Foundation launched an experimental residency designed to explore the dynamics of artistic collaboration across cultures, contexts, and languages. The project brought together Richard Crooks, a UK-based artist, sculptor, and educator, and artisan Subodh Chandra from the traditional Rajshahi Potter Community.

Despite significant cultural differences and a language barrier, the residency created a unique space where two distinct practices could meet, observe, and evolve together. Through this exchange, contemporary and traditional approaches intertwined, opening new possibilities for creative experimentation and shared learning. This initiative reflects Brihatta’s ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue between diverse artistic traditions, encouraging cross-cultural collaboration, and reimagining how art can connect people beyond boundaries.
